Investigation Continues (Printed 2/19/10)

As 12-year old Danny James lay in the hospital struggling for life,
both of his parents and his older sister will be laid to rest tomorrow.
The only survivor in that vehicle, Danny is one of 13 survivors of the
massive pile-up that occurred on US State Route 33 on February 7,
nearly two weeks ago.

Authorities are still trying to piece together the exact cause of
the accident but one unnamed source says the truth may never be known.
One fact not in dispute, though, is that something seen at the side of
the road caused drivers to panic, resulting in some drivers trying to
speed away as others stopped dead, either frozen in fear or wanting to
get a better look. Drivers in the area right before the accident reported a vagrant walking along, shirtless in the dead of winter, carrying a dripping package. What followed is still unclear. One eyewitness account has a bear attacking a man.
Another has it as a giant wolf: "like something out of one of those old
claymation fantasy movies," said one elderly onlooker. Former Marine
Sergeant Eric Anderson, under treatment for severe head trauma, still
swears that he saw a werewolf: "I thought it was a publicity stunt for
that new movie but it just looked so real." When contacted for comment,
a representative for Universal Studios denied any comment.
